Basquiat Crowns
December 2, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Before he became one of the most famous artists in the world, Jean-Michel Basquiat began his career as a graffiti artist in New York City. He loved to fill walls and canvases with bold colors, simple shapes, and powerful messages. His art often included words, crowns, and—believe it or not—dinosaurs! Keep your eyes out for projects inspired by his creative style throughout December.
Jean-Michel Basquiat, our Artist of the Month, often painted crowns to celebrate heroes, thinkers, and everyday people who inspired him. His crowns were messy, colorful, and full of energy—just like his art. Kids can create their own Basquiat-style crowns using bold, saturated colors and rough, expressive lines.
